Fight Conditioning - Boxing Training for Better Performance
Do you desire the fitness levels of a boxer without the
consequences of getting inside the ring?
Boxing Training is easy to learn, it's affordable to participate in and its interest crosses all social and gender divides.
What are it's benefits?
The body uses multiply muscle systems at the same time
helps develop balance
Improves reaction time
Gain agility and flexibility
Transfer of body power
Increase of energy and stamina
Brain - hand - eye coordination improves
I have never trained like this before...how do I start?
Firstly, we have to learn to train safely. You will need a bottle for water, a pair of focus mitts and training gloves, some loose clothing and a towel are all you need to get started.
We learn the hand movements from a stationary position, then learn the footwork, we then put them together.
Everthing is kept light and controlled.
What does a session consist of?
A good warm up is essential, no less than five minutes culminating in 30-60 seconds of all out speed work to increase the metabolic rate to enable progressive training.
Using basic boxing skills, jab and cross combinations will be developed.
As the training progresses exercise elements are brought into play. 1-2 combinations interspersed with situps or pushups. All help to increase the cardio and the body functionality.
Further interaction with the trainer will develop, learning how to bob and weave. As you progress your ability to deliver powerfull punches will have increased, your mobility will be very fluid, your sense of well being enhanced.
Will I have to train with weights?
As you progress through the training, various types of "low tech" equipment may be introduced. Tubing, dumbells, medicine balls, kettlebells all play a part as your energy requirements increase or as an aid to performance.
To round off, boxing training is fun, you gain whole-body fitness, you gain confidence and a greater desire to live life more healthily.
If you are interested in boxing training, please register using the contact page your interest in class, small group or one-to-one training.

Combat Conditioning
To properly prepare athletes participating in combat sports requires a conditioning system that is combat specific - sounds obvious doesn't it?. So, five mile runs will only produce one thing - an athlete with the ability to run five miles.
To train correctly in combat sports you need to understand the stress demands that the body will be undertaking.
If we look at MMA as an example, we require a level of high intensity, in short specific bursts, the bursts can be further defined as follows, speed, strength, endurance, with what follows in practice, a combination of all three, with a light recovery period.
So, in short, the combat athletes training must reflect the energy levels they will be required to produce whilst fighting.
RWC train combat athletes in the very same way that an athlete has to fight - short high energy bursts - minimum recovery. In effect the athlete will be conditioned not only physically but also mentally.
As is the case in life itself, the first thing to waver is the mental toughness, the willingness to go on.
RWC train martial artists from all disciplines of combat sports. If you are serious about your training, get in touch today.
